Privacy Policy — ZipNote
Effective date: June 26, 2026 · Last updated: June 26, 2026
Summary: ZipNote collects no personal data. All app data — properties, scores, photos, memos, and settings — is stored only on your device via SwiftData and never leaves the device. The developer runs no backend server, and there is no analytics, tracking, or advertising SDK.
1. Information We Collect
The developer collects no personal data. There is no sign-up, login, or account creation, and no name, email, or phone number is requested or stored. Everything you create in the app stays on your device via SwiftData and is never sent to any developer server.
- Property details / scores / memos — Records you enter yourself. Stored only on the device.
- Photos — Images you attach to a property. Copied into and kept only in the app's on-device storage.
- Location — With your permission, used to drop a map pin and compute walking distance to the nearest station. Stored only on the device (see Section 2).
- Settings, language, theme — App preferences. Likewise stored only on the device.
2. Location
Only with your permission, the app reads your current location on the device for two purposes:
- To drop a map pin when you add a property
- To compute the walking distance to the nearest station
Location is stored only on the device. It is not sent to any developer server, not used for tracking, and not linked to any identity. Map display and directions use Apple MapKit; coordinates and queries are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy terms. The developer does not receive or store them.
3. Data Transfer and Third Parties
The developer does not transfer any data externally or share it with third parties. No developer-side network calls are made with your data.
- No backend server of our own
- No analytics SDK
- No crash-reporting SDK
- No advertising or tracking identifiers (IDFA); no ATT prompt
Map and directions are handled by Apple MapKit, and in-app purchases by Apple StoreKit / the App Store. These are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. The developer does not receive that data.
4. Permissions
- Location (When In Use) — Used to place a property's map pin and compute walking distance to the nearest station.
- Photo library (add/attach) — Only the photos you pick via the system photo picker (PHPicker) are copied into the app's storage. There is no full photo-library access, and nothing is uploaded.
You may decline any permission and change it anytime in iOS Settings.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- All data lives only on your device, so you retain full control.
- You can edit or delete records directly within the app.
- Deleting the app removes all data stored on the device. In-app purchases can be restored through your Apple account.
6. Payments (In-App Purchases)
ZipNote is free, with an optional one-time Lifetime Pro purchase. All payments are processed by Apple's App Store / StoreKit; the developer never sees or stores payment details such as card numbers. Payment and refund data handling follows Apple's privacy policy.
7. Children's Privacy
ZipNote is designed to be safe for all ages (4+). It collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, we will post the changes and their effective date on this page.
