Privacy Policy — Pick5

Summary: Pick5 collects no personal data. Your saved restaurants, ratings, visit dates, notes, photos, tags, Top 5 collections, and Taste DNA all stay on your device and never leave it. There is no server, and no analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.

1. Information We Collect

Pick5 does not collect personal data. There is no sign-up or login, and we never request or store identifying information such as name, email, phone number, or location. Everything you create in the app stays on your device.

Restaurant entries (name, area, rating, visit date, notes, tags) — entered by you, stored only in on-device storage (localStorage).
Photos — any photos you attach are stored only on your device (IndexedDB) and are never uploaded.
Top 5 collections & Taste DNA — computed on your device from your saved data. Never sent to a server.
Preferences (taste settings, language, theme) — stored only on your device.

2. Data Transmission & Third-Party Sharing

Pick5 does not transmit any data externally or share it with third parties.

No backend server — no network calls are made with your data.
No analytics tools
No crash-reporting SDKs
No advertising or tracking identifiers (IDFA)
No location or contacts access

The app may load web fonts for display quality; no personally identifying information is transmitted in that process.

3. Sharing

Pick5's share cards (e.g. your all-time Top 5) are generated as an image on your device only when you tap the share button, and are passed to the app you choose (e.g. Instagram, Messages) via the iOS system share sheet. Pick5 never automatically posts or uploads your content.

4. Payments (In-App Purchase)

Pick5 is free, with an optional lifetime unlock (Pick5 Pro, one-time purchase). All payments are processed by Apple's App Store / StoreKit; Pick5 never sees or stores payment details such as card numbers. Payment and refund data handling follows Apple's privacy policy. Purchase restoration is handled through your Apple account.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

All data lives only on your device, so you have full control.
You can edit or delete entries in the app, and export or reset all data.
Deleting the app removes all on-device data. In-app purchases can be restored via your Apple account.

6. Accounts & Login

Pick5 requires no account creation or login, and no identifiers such as email, phone number, or social sign-in.

7. Children's Privacy

Pick5 is designed to be safe for all ages (4+). We collect no personal data from anyone, including children. There are no user-to-user communication features.

8. Your Rights

Because all data resides on your device, you can exercise your rights of access, correction, and deletion directly through the app's UI and iOS. For questions about rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other laws, contact us below.

If this policy changes, we will post the changes and effective date on this page.
