Summary: BookDNA collects no data. Your library, Top 5, ratings, one-line reviews, and taste settings are stored only on your device (localStorage) and never leave it. There is no backend server, and there are no analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.

1. Information We Collect

BookDNA does not collect any personal data. There is no sign-up and no login, and the app neither requests nor stores identifying information such as your name, email, phone number, or location. Everything you create in the app stays on your device.

Your library / Top 5 / ratings / one-line reviews — reading records you enter yourself, saved only in your device's local storage (localStorage).
Taste settings, language, and theme — app preferences, likewise stored only on your device.
Book catalog and sample readers / book clubs — local sample data bundled inside the app. These are not real user accounts or an external database.

2. Data Transmission & Third-Party Sharing

BookDNA does not transmit any data off your device or share anything with third parties.

No backend server — the app makes no network calls for your data.
No analytics tools
No crash-reporting SDKs
No advertising or tracking identifiers (no IDFA usage)

The app may load web fonts for display quality; no personally identifying information is transmitted in that process.

3. Payments (In-App Purchase)

BookDNA is free, with an optional one-time lifetime upgrade (BookDNA Pro). All payments are handled by Apple through the App Store / StoreKit. BookDNA never sees or stores your payment details such as card numbers. Payment and refund data are governed by Apple's privacy policy. Purchase restoration is also performed through your Apple account.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Because all data lives only on your device, you retain full control at all times.
You can edit or delete your records directly inside the app.
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data (localStorage) with it. Your in-app purchase entitlement can be restored through your Apple account.

5. Accounts & Login

BookDNA requires no account, no login, and no identifiers such as email, phone number, or social sign-in.

6. Children's Privacy

BookDNA is designed to be safe for all ages (4+). It collects no personal information from anyone, including children. It contains no objectionable content, no external links, and no user-to-user communication features.

7. Your Rights

Because all data stays on your device, you can exercise access, correction, and deletion rights directly through the in-app UI and iOS system settings. For GDPR / CCPA / other regulatory questions, contact us using the address below.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version and a new effective date will be posted on this page.
